Events in 2025

January 2025

On January 21st, we had our first Oxbridge Society Hamburg Stammtisch at Abaton Bistro, and it was a fantastic evening! It was great to see both familiar and new faces, exchanging stories, ideas, and laughter over delicious food and drinks. A big thank you to everyone who joined and made it such a memorable gathering!

March 2025

Oxbridge Pub Meeting #2

We were happy to invite our members to the second Oxbridge pub meeting (Stammtisch) on Wednesday 19 March 2025 starting 7pm at the Abaton Bistro (Grindelhof 14a, 20146 Hamburg)!

What a fantastic turnout! 🎉

Our second Oxbridge Society Hamburg Stammtisch at Abaton Bistro was a huge success, with around 30 participants—double the number from our first gathering! The enthusiasm exceeded all expectations, so much so that we even ran out of seats. But in true Oxbridge spirit, members turned this challenge into an opportunity—grabbing a drink, mingling, and making new connections in a lively, informal atmosphere.

A big thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to another great evening of conversation and camaraderie. We can’t wait to see you at the next one!

Oxford and Cambridge Society of Hamburg 10th Anniversary Event

On behalf of all of us here at the University of Cambridge, we would like to extend our warmest congratulations to your Society on reaching your ten-year anniversary.  It is truly an occasion to celebrate.

Regrettably, we are unable to attend in person owing to prior commitments.

However, we welcome this opportunity to acknowledge the special community that the Oxford and Cambridge Society has built up in the region over the last ten years, helping to create a home from home for our alumni.  Thanks to your particularly wide-ranging events programme, you ensure that all local alumni can enjoy the benefits of being part of your network and staying connected to their wider University communities.  We are very grateful to Wilfried, Karsten and the other committee members for their considerable efforts to make this happen.

Finally, we would like to wish everyone attending the garden party a very enjoyable day in celebration of the enduring connections between Hamburg and our two British universities.  We only hope the weather is not too “British” and you can enjoy some spring sunshine for your festivities!

We hope to welcome you back to Cambridge in the near future.
