Black-tie Dinner
Following last year’s successful formal dinner at the Anglo-German Club, we will be holding the Second Annual Dinner of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Hamburg on 4th November; our guest speaker is the author of a book about Volkswagen and will be giving us his insider’s perspective on the challenges facing the carmaker. Invitations will follow to members in due course.

Headed to Oxford or Cambridge this autumn? Join us from 6pm on Friday 8th September and ask all those questions that we wish somebody would have been able to answer when we were getting ready to go. Summer Garden Party
Following the success of last year’s event, we will be holding our second Summer Garden Party at the Anglo-German Club from 6pm onwards on 12th July; we are delighted to be joining forces with the Harvard Club Hamburg for this year’s edition. As there will be no fixed seating arrangements, we look forward to welcoming as many members of the Society with friends/family as possible. Lunch-time talk on UK General Election
We will have the great pleasure of hosting Jeremy Cliffe of The Econmist, who will be offering us the insight he gained into British politics as author of the weekly’s „Bagehot“ column two weeks before the snap election on 8th June. Boat Race Event
A Hamburg-based alumni with an extremely large television screen has kindly agreed to host us for an afternoon/evening of good natured inter-University abuse based on the performance of 18 current students on the Thames on 2nd April. Details on request by e-mail.

We will be holding one of our classic dinners at the Anglo-German Club on 22nd March. Space is limited, to respond to the e-mail invitation early to avoid disappointment.

Grünkohlwanderung
If you’re Northern German, this will need no further explanation. If not, just trust us on this one. We meet at 2.30pm on Sunday 19th February at Poppenbüttel S-Bahn. There will be walking, kale, and perhaps some schnaps.
